Before the Thornberry's operated Thornberry Cafeteria at the corner of Pearce and Linn, they operated the Wentzville Cafe on West Allen, next door to Wentzville Tavern. There was a pass-thru window between the cafe and the tavern - so a patron at the tavern could order food from the cafe and would prepare the order and pass the food over to the tavern. In the picture Mrs. Thornberry stands in the doorway of the Wentzville Cafe with the town pharmacist. On the back of the picture it is noted that she got new blinds for the cafe.
